Getting Started with OpenWork Chat

Create an account

OpenWork apps are open-source and you can host your own. However, the easiest way to get going is to use our hosting service, Project:DABL. The link below will open the log in page in a new tab allowing you to refer back to this page for instructions.

Deploy the app

Once you have created your account you'll be taken to the dashboard page where you can create and manage projects. Towards the bottom of the page is a list of apps to deploy. Click "Deploy" on the DABL Chat card.

Select the app

A project will be automatically created and initialized. Once it's finished initialising, click on the ledger card.

Launch the app

After the app files have been deployed to the ledger, click into it from the workspace. You'll see a box titled "Action Needed". Click the Launch button

Configure the operator bot

From the list of artifacts, click the right arrow in the row for the operator bot

Create a new deployment

Click "here" to configure a new deployment

Add the UserAdmin

Click the Party dropdown, and click "+ UserAdmin"

Run the automation

Click the Party dropdown again, and pick the UserAdmin from the list. Then click "Launch"

Get going!

You are now good to go! In the header on the ledger page you'll see your board's URL. This is a unique link to your app that you can share with the rest of your team.
